Michael Gene Wright

Michael Gene Wright, 59, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. He was born in Greenwood, SC to the late Bobby Gene and Vivian McFerrin Wright. Michael was a graduate of Mooresville High School and was married to Sandra "Sandi" Kay Lackey Wright, who survives. Before becoming disabled, he had been employed by Southern States Fertilizer Plant as a maintenance foreman. Mike was a loving and devoted father and grandfather who prized his 2013 Dodge Challenger. He will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Sandi; two daughters, Melissa Prevette (Artie) and Hannah Hepler (Jarrod Crowell); two sons, David Wright (Rebecca) and William Hepler (Janice); nine grandchildren; and a sister, Michelle Wright. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jason Buchanan and Rev. David Childress officiating.
