Melvin Messick

Melvin Robert Messick, 72, of Statesville, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. Mr. Messick was born November 20, 1940 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Otis Messick and Florence Pippin Messick. He attended Iredell County schools and he was retired from J.C. Penny. Mr. Messick is survived by his wife, Doris Ann McNeely Messick, three sons, Robert Shawn Messick, Tim Shoemaker and Chris Shoemaker; one granddaughter, Alie Shoemaker and one grandson, Shane Shoemaker along with one sister, Colene Small and one brother, Leroy Messick, all of Statesville. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Messick will be conducted 2:30 pm Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Dr. J.B. Parker officiating.
