Melodie Ann Cornelison Trent, 59, of Statesville, died Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Gainesville, Georgia on December 29, 1955, she was a daughter of the late Rembert Cornelison and of Virginia Allen Cornelison who survives. Ann was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir and enjoyed music as she played the piano and violin. She particularly enjoyed bluegrass music, cooking and playing piano. She was the former interim director of Habitat For Humanity and worked there for over 17 years. Survivors in addition to her mother, include her children: Susan Miller and Patrick Wetherington, both of Statesville, Jessica Trent of Wisconsin and Andy Sheppard of Georgia. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Jacob, Ava and R.J. along with a brother, Steve Cornelisun (Donna) of Georgia. Services celebrating Ann's life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Fitzgerald officiating. Condolences may be sent online to the family to www.nicholsonfunerals.com.
