Melissa Gay Fudge

November 19, 1971 — February 16, 2018

Melissa Gay Fudge, 46, of Statesville, died Friday at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Born in Iredell County on November 19, 1971, she was a daughter of Inez Cloer Fudge and the late Edwin Fudge (Ray). She attended West Iredell High School and obtained her G.E.D. from Mitchell Community College. She was of the Baptist faith.



Today the gates of Heaven open wide to receive the prettiest and sweetest angel of them all, Melissa. She has endured pains from diabetes for years until today when God took the pain away. Melissa loved all animals, especially cats. Melissa does not want you to grieve for her because she is in Heaven with all loved ones that have gone on before her.



In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother, Jerry Wayne Cloer and a number of uncles and aunts and a host of cousins.



She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter W. and Alice Cloer Cloer and her cat, Scruffy.



Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Christ Independent Baptist Church with Rev. Clarence Cloer and Rev. Joe Dellinger officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Nicholson Funeral Home. And at other times will be assembled at the home of Howard Stewart at 190 Harriett Lane, Statesville.
