Mauricio Lainez

Mauricio Antonio Lainez Salmeron, 23, of Statesville, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Mr. Lainez was born June 10, 1988 in Hampstead, NY and was the son of Martin Lainez, Sr., and Maribel De Paz Salmeron Garcia. He was a graduate of West Iredell High School Class of 2005. Mr. Lainez was a member of Living Waters Pentecostal Church and was formerly employed with Zaxby's where he worked as a cook. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lainez is also survived by two sisters, Cynthia Lainez of Statesville and Silvia Deleon (Hugo) and their children, Haley and Iliana Deleon, all of New York; two brothers, Josh Lainez (Hope) and their son, Gabriel Michael Lainez of Statesville and Martin Lainez, Jr. of El Salvador. He is also survived by one uncle, Victor Hernandez, two aunts, Milagro Romero and Angela Romero (Jose) and their daughter, Mariam Romero, two cousins, Carlos Hernandez (Fabiola) and their son, Osias Hernandez and Francisco Salmeron (Nancy) along with their children, Chelsea, Jasline and Mason. Funeral services for Mr. Lainez will be conducted 3:00 pm Saturday, March 10, 2012 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Fernando Discua officiating. The family will visit with friends from 12:30 until 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in El Salvador at a later date.
