Matthew Wayne Gilley

Matthew Wayne Gilley, age 41 of Iredell County, NC passed away on June 23, 2021 while working in Syracuse, NY. Born on August 15, 1979 in Iredell County, NC to Cynthia Bolick Gilley Kelly and the late Gerald Gilley.



Matthew was an amazing artist who was a hardworking individual. He liked to fish and had a wonderful sense of humor. He never met a stranger and loved and cherished his family and friends.



In addition to his father, Gerald Gilley he was preceded in death by his half-brother, Jeffrey Gilley. Those left to cherish his memory include his fianc, Michelle Brown; his mother, Cindy Gilley Kelly; his step-father, Rancy Kelly; his daughter, Ashlee Harrington (Shayne); brother, Brandon Gilley (Nikia); grandson, Kingston Harrington; half-sister, Deborah Holcomb; and niece and nephew, Jaelyn Gilley and Gabriel Gilley.



A Service to celebrate his life will be held 3:00 pm, Monday, July 19, 2021 in the Chapel of Nicholson Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Pope officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Matthew will be laid to rest at 4:30 pm at Oakwood Cemetery.
