Mary Sue Toney, age 87, of Harmony passed away peacefully October 27, 2021 at Rosewood Assisted Living.

She was born June 7, 1934 in Polk County, North Carolina the daughter of the late Garner Skipper and Bernice Wilson Skipper. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman Harrison Toney.

Mary grew up on a farm, had old fashioned values and loved the Lord. She loved to sing southern gospel music with her family at local churches and events. Most of all she was devoted to her family and enjoyed time spent with them.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Mark Austin Toney and wife Lori; grandchildren, Matthew Toney (Keltsey), Josiah Toney (Breanna), Christian Toney, Elizabeth Angel (Austin), Andrew Toney, Sarah Toney, Liberty Toney, Harmony Toney, Timothy Toney, Victoria Toney, and Justice Toney; great grandchildren, Arianna Toney, Julia Toney, Viktor Toney and Harper Angel; sister, Joyce S. Neeley; and numerous other loving family and friends.

A funeral service will be held 2 PM Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Big Level Baptist Church, 4868 Big Level Road, Mill Spring, , North Carolina, 28756. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Big Level Baptist Church Cemetery.
