Mary O'Neil Frye

July 7, 1932 — October 5, 2018

Mrs. Mary F. Frye of River Hill Road, Statesville, entered into eternal rest on October 5, 2018 at her home after a ten-year battle with cancer.



She was born July 7, 1932 to Jason and Irene Hobbs Fox.



On November 21, 1952 she married Ernest Woodrow "Wood" Frye. They enjoyed almost 52 years of marriage before his death in October 2004. From this union was born three daughters, Beverly "Joy" Henderson (Sammy), Vickie Stricklin, and Tammy Boyles. They also raised a granddaughter, Melissa Malone who lived with her at the time of her death.



She is also survived by six other grandchildren, Julie H. Christian (Dwayne), Branson J. Henderson (Mary), Shannon and Shane Ramsey, Tina Duke, and Josh Frazier. She is survived by 15 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Paul "Pete" Fox (Elizabeth), and two sisters, Linda Lackey and Katie Pope (Freddy). A special nephew, Brian Lackey along with other nieces and nephews also survive.



Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, David (Martha) and a sister, Sue Goble (Cody).



She worked in the textile business, having retired from Trim Systems.



She worked hard her whole life and loved her two boy dogs, Rowdy and Rocky and her Little Girl. She always loved her animals including her chickens.



Funeral services will be held at Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel on 2:00 PM Saturday, October 13, 2018 with Rev Tony Fox officiating. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Coby Rogerson, Brian Lackey, Mason Richardson, Paxton Cornett, Cody Hartzell, and Dwayne Christian.
