Mary Frances Ayer Powell

Mary Frances Powell, 87, of Lexington, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. Born on March 13, 1935, in Barnwell, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late General Ayer and Myrtice Hollins Ayer.

Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who cherished her family. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William Bryan Powell, Jr.; her son, William Bruan Powell, III; her sisters, Betty Blume, Joyces Troupe, Helen Byers, and Lorraine Duncan; and her brother, Billy Ayer.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Mandy Sheets; grandchildren, Derek Sheets, Zach Sheets, and Bailee Powell; and her nine great-grandchildren.

At the request of the family and to honor Mary's wishes, no services will be held.
