Mary Evelyn Mccall

Mary Evelyn Marshall McCall, 80, of Statesville passed away Monday, July 02, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born on March 20, 1938 in Olga, Florida to the late Edwin Garland Marshall and Erby Etta Corbitt Braddock.



Mary was a graduate of Miami High School and on August 17, 1957 she married Collier Francis "Cash" McCall. They shared over 60 years of marriage before her passing. She was a former telephone operator, farmer, and operated Mr. Donut in Statesville. Mary was a long-time and faithful member of New Salem United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, Mildred Turner Circle, and cooked meals for the church and for mission trips. She and Cash were both faithful to church missions. Mary was also a outstanding seamstress and helped with the outfits for the Christmas Pageant Walk to the Stable. She and Cash were both volunteers for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief.



Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.



Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Cash; two sons, Frank Collier McCall (Jackie) of Madison, Alabama and Marshall Kevin McCall (Pam) of Statesville; one daughter, Julia Anne M. Cable (Michael) of Statesville; nine grandchildren, Laura Newquist (Noel), Andrew McCall (Heather), Daniel McCall (Maddy), Christopher McCall (Summer), Alexander McCall, Ashley McCall, Tora Holland, Garion Holland, and McKayla Cable; and three great grandchildren, Scott Newquist, John Newquist, and Marshall McCall.



A Celebration of Life Service will be held 3:00 pm Thursday, July 5, 2018 at New Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Franklin and Rev. David Gay officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to the service in the church fellowship hall from 2:00 until 3:00 pm. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.
