Mary Carico, 98, of Statesville, died January 18, 2024 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born September 30, 1925 in Gaston County to the late Webb Whitworth and Ursula Puttman Whitworth. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She dearly loved her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul and

3 sons J.C., John and Frank.

Survivors include daughters, Margaret Whitworth, Teena Rupard and Lorea Slaten, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Bethel Baptist Church with Brother Alan Connor, Rev. Kent Inscoe and Pastor Steve Newman officiating. The family will greet friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at Nicholson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Friendly Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in North Iredell.
