Mary Alice Love

Mary Alice (Barnes) Love, 78, of Thomasville, North Carolina, celebrated her arrival into Heaven on Monday, April 18, 2022. She was born September 9, 1943, in Newberry, South Carolina to the late Russell Barnes, Sr. and Sarah (Rutherford) Barnes. Mary Alice Love was a faithful member of Brown New Calvary Baptist Church. She served her church well. She was always willing to help in any way she could. A faithful Sunday School and Bible Study attendant. She is known for baking all varieties of cakes and was a great asset to the kitchen committee. All you had to do was ask for your favorite kind of cake and it would be ready and waiting. She also assisted with Vacation Bible School and the Youth Choir. Her spiritual foundation was solid, and her willing hands were there waiting for her task to be assigned. Mary Alice will always be remembered for her kind heart, dedication to her church and enlightened smile. Her name "Love" was a testimony to her sweet, loving and giving personality. She was loved by many families and friends. She will be truly missed. In addition to her parents, Ms. Love was preceded in death by her brothers, James Barnes, Sr., and Lewis Barnes; sister, Betty Barnes. Left to cherish her memory are her son, James W. Love, Jr.; daughter, Sharon R. Love; brother, Larry Barnes; grandchildren, LaDonna, Antonio, Darrin, Samantha, Brian, and Simone; many great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She loved her family. Anything she could do she would get it done. A Celebration of Life will be at Brown New Calvary Baptist Church, 200 Doak Street, Thomasville, NC on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 with Reverend Alfred Solomon, Jr. officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 12:30pm until 1pm with service to follow at 1pm. We can no longer see you with our eyes, but we will keep you in our hearts forever.
