Martha Pauline Rochester

Mrs. Martha Pauline Benfield Rochester, 88, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Brian Center of Statesville. Mrs. Rochester was born November 11, 1927 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Ras Triplett Benfield and Beulah Moose Benfield. She attended Celeste Henkel School and on February 2, 1960, she married Lawrence Eli Rochester, who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Lawrence Rochester and a sister, Augusta Benfield Lewis. She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Rochester Hobbs along with two grandsons, Jeremy Lawrence Hobbs and David Fulton Hobbs, all of Greensboro and a granddaughter, Sarah Ashley Hobbs and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Boone, both of Walnut Cove, NC. A memorial service honoring Mrs. Rochester will be conducted 3:00 PM Saturday, December 5, 2015, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. J.B. Parker, Jr officiating. A private burial will follow in Beulah Baptist Church cemetery.
