Martha Jean Horne

Mrs. Martha Jean Reavis Horne, 76, of Statesville, died Friday, November 20, 2015 at her home. Born in Iredell County on February 9, 1939, she was a daughter of the late William Floyd Reavis and Mary Elizabeth Guy Horne. She was a member of Monticello United Methodist Church and attended Bible Baptist Church. She graduated from Scotts High School and was retired from K Mart. She enjoyed reading and dearly loved time with her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Giles Horne and a daughter, Amy Horne Padgett. Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Harris (Jimmy) of Statesville, a sister, Peggy Elliott of Aberdeen, N.C. and grandchildren: Stephanie, Jennifer and Joseph Harris, Megan and Nic Sharpe and a great granddaughter, Makinzie Beaver. She is also survived by her dog, Zoey. Services celebrating Martha's life will be conducted at 11:00 Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Scott McGraw officiating. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Condolences may be sent online to the family to www.nicholsonfunerals.com.
