Martha Jane Shew

Mrs. Martha Jane Moose Shew, 73, of Statesville, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 after months of declining health. Mrs. Shew was born in Iredell County on October 24, 1943 and was a daughter of the late Everett William Moose and Irene Messick Moose. She attended Celeste Henkel School and early in her marriage was employed for a time at J.P. Stevens Co, in Turnersburg. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William Clyde Shew, two daughters, Donna Josey and husband, Ernie of Troutman and Debra Patton of Statesville, four grandsons, Brandon Brown (Tiffany), Adam Patton (Brittany), Zachary Patton (Schleena) and James Josey along with great grandchildren: Baylee Patton, Adelei Patton, Payton Taylor, Jacklyn Murphy, Kimmie Murphy. Also surviving are two sisters, Shirley Upright (Nathan) of Statesville and Linda Aldridge (Phil) of Augusta, Ga. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday February 2, 2017 at Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Adam Patton, Zachary Patton, Tim Shew, Wesley Shew, Garrett Drescher, David Morgan, Brian Boan, and James Josey. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service. Condolences may be sent online to the family to www.nicholsonfunerals.com.
