Martha Hass

Mrs. Martha Stewart Hass, 87, of Statesville, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013, at Gordon Hospice House. Mrs. Hass was born December 1, 1925 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late David Stewart and Bertie Mae Travis Stewart. She was a graduate of Sharon High School and on October 10, 1944, she married L.B. Hass, Jr, who preceded her in death in 1976. She attended Trinity UMC and she was a homemaker. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Steven L. Hass and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Hass is survived by a son, Ron Hass and a daughter, Vickie Hedrick; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Hass, Dustin and Shannon Hedrick, Tracy Fox, and Joe, Steven, and Brooks Hass. She is also survived by three sisters, Wilma Morrison, Cathryn Vaughn and Carrie Beard along with one brother, J.V. Stewart. Several nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren also survive. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Hass's will be conducted 3:00 PM Monday, November 18 in the Trinity UMC Cemetery with Rev. Dustin Hedrick officiating. There will be a time for fellowship and food at the home of Mrs. Hass immediately following the graveside services.
