Marjorie Hartness Kilpatrick

Mrs. Marjorie Hartness Godfrey Kilpatrick, 92, of Troutman, died Thursday, January 5, 2017 at her home. Born in Iredell County, she was a daughter of the late Marshall Lee Godfrey and Carrie Belle Hartness Godfrey. Marjorie was retired from the H. R. Dept. of Dominion Power/ Virginia Electric Power Company and was a member of Western Ave. Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening. Her husband, Chester Darrel Kilpatrick, died on June 20, 2011. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Surviving are a sister, Mary Ruth Godfrey of Statesville, a sister-in-law, Barbara Godfrey of New Jersey and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 10, 2016 at Western Ave. Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Spry and Rev. Andy Lackey Officiating. The family will speak with friends at the church for one hour prior to the service and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
