Marilyn Whitman Lusk

June 11, 1948 — November 27, 2021

Marilyn Whitman Lusk, 73, of Statesville died Saturday, November 27, 2021.

She was born in Oconee County, SC to the late Gus Nelson Whitman and Norie Burton Whitman. She was also preceded in death by a son, Keith Lusk, and three brothers, Bobby, Jimmy and Roger Whitman.

Marilyn was a teacher's assistant and was instrumental in helping implement Headwaters Academy at South River Baptist Church where she was a member. She loved her Lord and her family. She always enjoyed working with children, cooking, and singing. Marilyn was very particular and always wanted to appear her very best.

Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Wendy Sells (Johnny) of Mooresville and Paula Walton (Max), six grandchildren, Sydney, Taylor, David, Stephen, Phillip (Savannah) and Sarah, one great-grandchild, Macy Grace, and a sister, Becky Craft (Bill).

A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Oakwood Cemetery with Dr. Chris Thompson officiating. The family will visit with family and friends on Tuesday evening, November 30, 2021, at Nicholson Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The family requests that masks be worn and social distancing be observed.
