Marian Martha Folke

Mrs. Marian Martha Simsen Folke, 84, of Morehead City, NC passed away, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, NC. Mrs. Folke was born April 11, 1932 in New York, NY to the late Albert F. Simsen and Margerit Willien Simsen. She was the first born American in the Simsen family and was a graduate of Lakewood, NJ High Schools. On October 7, 1950, she was married to the late John Henry Folke and was a member of St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Lakewood, NJ. She worked for LeContte Company as a bookkeeper in Lakewood, NJ and in 1986, she and John retired to Morehead City, NC. She was a great cook and quilter and while in Morehead City, she was a member of the Crystal Coast Quilting Guild for 39 years. She also was a member of the Belk Bra and Panty Club. Mrs. Folke is survived by two daughters, Carol F. Oliphant of Statesville, Gail Parisi of New Jersey, three grandchildren, Ryan Oliphant (Lauren) of Statesville, Alison Parisi of NJ, Amanda Macho (Andrew) of NJ, and five great grandchildren, Addie Oliphant and Bo Oliphant of Statesville, Conner McNichols of NJ and Ava and AJ Macho of NJ. A private family service will be held at a later date in New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625.
