Marian Gilleland

Marian Elizabeth Gilleland, 93, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born on March 13, 1921 in Iredell County to the late Ernest B. and Mary Hux Gilleland. Marian was a graduate of Statesville High School. She was of Baptist Faith and worked at Beauty Maid Mills as a shipping clerk most of her career. She loved her nieces and nephews and was loved by them. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Hannah White and her husband, Rev. Jim White of Statesville; five nieces; six nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Clanton officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Iredell Senior Center, 344 E.
