Margaret Campbell Smith, 79, of Statesville, passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born March 23, 1935 in Iredell County to the late James Edward Campbell and Willie Blanche Munday Campbell. Margaret was educated in the Iredell County Schools and was married to William Lowell Smith on April 27, 1991, who survives. She retired from Rental Uniform but was a Homemaker most of her life and was an active member of Union Grove Christian Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rosalee Wooten. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, William Lowell Smith; three daughters, Carolyn Johnson (Mickey), Deborah Fulbright ( David), and Karen Lippard Speaks; one son, Chuck Lippard (Cammie); three granddaughters, Beverly Jones, Alicia Crisp, and Brittany Morrow; four grandsons, Chad Fox, Shaun Connolly, Jason Connolly, and Ian Morrow; and nine great grandchildren. She is further survived by three sisters, Shirley Campbell Lambert, Brenda Campbell Welborn, and Kay Ballard; and a number of nieces and nephew. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, November 21, 2014 at Union Grove Christian Church with Rev. Allen Lunsford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Shaun Connolly, Jason Connolly, Chad Fox, Ian Morrow, Jamie Welborn, Mark Ballard, Trae Fraley, and David Ballard. The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 unitl 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
