Margaret Combs

Mrs. Margaret “Maggie” Reid Combs of Statesville, age 71, went home to be with the Lord on May 17^th, 2024. She was born on April 5^th, 1953, one of seven siblings, to the late Mr. and Mrs. William P. Reid. She was a 1971 graduate of Statesville High School. “Mawmaw Margaret” ran an in-home daycare for over 30 years and loved following the lives of all her previous babies.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jimmy; her daughter, Angie; and by her siblings, Billy, Barabara, Wayne, and Martha. She is survived by her son-in-law, Eric Wilcox; granddaughter Shelly Stroud (Stan); her three great-grandchildren, Andi, Jensen, and Tarryn; her siblings, Paul “Butch” Reid (Nelda) and Linda Stewart (Gary); and her in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Margaret was a devoted mother and “Mawmaw.” She enjoyed reading, crafts, and spending time with family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to express their thanks to the ICU staff at Iredell Memorial Hospital for their help and wonderful care.
