Margaret Annette Morris

Margaret Annette Morris, 89, of Fuquay-Varina, and formerly of Statesville, died Saturday, August 31, 2019.

Annette was born April 1, 1930 in Statesville, to the late William Grady Morris, Sr. and Margaret Bryant Morris. She was also preceded in death by a brother, William Grady Morris, Jr.

Ms. Morris graduated from Statesville High School in 1948, attended Mitchell College, and graduated from East Carolina Teachers College. She was a Primary School teacher for 38 years. She taught at Cool Spring Elementary School, and in Florida, Arizona and Military Bases in Germany and Japan. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Statesville. She loved traveling and walking on the beach.

She is survived by 2 nieces; Karen H. Collins (Lenwood) of Greensboro, NC, Linda A. Morris of Statesville, NC, a nephew, Thomas Morris (Robin) of Fuquay-Varina, NC, a grandniece; Lara Brock (Scott) of Durham, NC, great-nephew; Max William Brock, and great-niece; Emma Jane Brock of Durham.

In accordance with her wishes, Ms. Morris' body has been donated to the Bowman Gray School of Medicine for scientific purposes. In lieu of a memorial service a visitation will be held, Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
