Maggie Lee Jordan Cook, 89, of Statesville, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Iredell County on August 22, 1924 to the late William Marshall and Nancy Greene Jordan and was one of ten children. Maggie attended Iredell County Schools and was married to the late James Floyd Cook who preceded her in death on February 24, 2004. They were married for 59 years at the time of his passing. She was a homemaker who loved cooking and delighted in feeding the masses. She was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans. Maggie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by all that knew her. Mrs. Cook is survived by two sons, Danny Cook (Sandra) and Steve Cook (Louise), both of Statesville; five grandchildren, David Cook (Crystal), Damon Cook (Kendy), Derrick Cook (Shelley), Nelson Cook (Cyndi), and Tanya C. Cranfill (Jeremy Bruce); ten great grandchildren, Caitlin, Allison, and Paxton Cook, Justin and Trevor Cranfill, Heath Cook, Ethan and McKinna Cook, and Janet and Dylan. She is further survived by a sister, Lavonne Galliher; and two sisters-in-laws, Flossie Mayberry and Sue Cook. Funeral services for Maggie Cook will be held 2:30 PM Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Mountain View United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons: David, Damon, Nelson, Derrick, Heath, and Ethan Cook, Justin Cranfill, and Jeremy Bruce. Honorary pallbearers will be Trevor Cranfill and Paxton Cook. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Iredell Memorial Hospital for the love and care they provided Maggie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mountain View UMC Cemetery Fund, c/o Judy Miller, 121 Miller Cove Lane, Statesville, NC 28625.
