Mack Lee Pennell, Jr.

Mack Lee Pennell, Jr., 86, of Statesville, went Home to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House. He was born on September 14, 1931 in Forsyth County to the late Mack Lee Pennell, Sr. and Clara Orrell Pennell.



Mr. Pennell was a graduate of Taylorsville High School and Piedmont Bible College. He served his country honorably in the Army during the Korean War. On June 1, 1956, Mack married the "love of his life," Ardith Lee White. They shared over 61 years of marriage before his passing. He was a salesman until he surrendered his life to preach the gospel in 1969. Mr. Pennell was a member of Temple Baptist Church and served as the Associate Pastor until his retirement in 2000. He loved the Lord and his church. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.



Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bobbie Coffey and Betty Edwards



Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ardith; two daughters, Karen Whittle (Rob) and Martha Walker (Danny); one son, Paul Pennell; four grandchildren, Brandon and Josh Rawlins, Corrie Franklin (Jared), and Payton Walker; and one sister, Mary Ellis



Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Temple Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 pm.
