Mac Deaton

Pleasant McClelland "Mac" Deaton, 48, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 28, 2012 at his home. Mr. Deaton was born December 11, 1963 and was the son of the late Jacob Leroy Deaton, Sr. and Doris Tucker Deaton. He was a graduate of South Iredell High School, Charlotte Diesel School and he received two certificates of completion from Mitchell Community College for HVAC. He was a member of Amity Lutheran Church and while his health allowed, he attended Knox Chapel UMC. Mr. Deaton is survived by one sister, Cynthia Kaye Miller of Statesville; two brothers, J.L. Deaton, Jr. of Statesville and Darius T. Deaton (Mary Ellen) of Concord. He is also survived by two aunts, Mary Frances McNeely and Barbara T. Hayes (Horace), both of Statesville and one uncle, Paul Deaton (Jackie) of Cary. He is further survived by a special cousin, Jane Cochrane along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A life celebration honoring Mac Deaton will be conducted 3:00 pm Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Knox Chapel UMC, 3520 Ostwalt Amity Road, Statesville, NC, 28166 with Rev. Bill Draughn officiating.
