L.V. Gunter

L. V. Gunter, 79, of Statesville, passed away April 15, 2013 at Maple Leaf Health Care of Statesville. He was born on April 13, 1934 in Newport, Tennessee to the late Dave and Neter Gunter. He retired from Kewaunee Scientific Corporation where he was a machine operator. After his retirement, L.V. worked for Wilson Security. He was a member of Eufola Baptist Church. L.V. is survived by his niece and guardian, Joanne Wall; two grand nieces, Lechia McColl and Shonda Duke, all of Statesville; two brothers, Steve Gunter, of Denver, NC and Andrew Gunter of Statesville. He is further survived by his special great-great nieces, Brittany Shaw, Destiny McColl, and Jordan Kerr, who considered L.V. as their grandfather; and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Iredell Memorial Gardens with Pastor Otis Johnson officiating.
