Lucille Pierce Nicks Bost, 86, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Thursday, March 30, 2017. She was born on October 11, 1930 in Martinsville, Va to the late Thomas Parks Pierce and Launa Alston Pierce. Mrs. Bost was a graduate of Statesville Senior High and was first married to Horace Monroe Nicks who preceded her in death on October 22, 1979. She later married John B. Bost who preceded her in death in 1995. She was retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Lucille was known as the "Biscuit Lady" of her neighborhood and many enjoyed the fruits of her labors. She assisted her daughters in Brownies and Girl Scouts and was very instrumental in all her children's educations. She was very active in the PTA's of the schools. Lucille was a former President of Iredell React Organization and was known by her CB handle "Lady T-Bird." Along with her parents and husbands, Horace and John, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Terry Andrew Hope, Jr.; four sisters, Annie Foster, Mary Robertson, Frances Smith, and Margaret Price; and one brother, William Pierce. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Terri Nicks Lane (Steve) of Emerald Isle, NC and Judy Nicks Hope of Statesville; a son, Joseph M. Nicks (Kristy) of Statesville; a step-daughter, Shannon Bost of New Jersey; a brother, Thomas Parks Pierce, Jr. (Shirley) of Wilkesboro; five grandchildren, Justin Lane, Elliot Lane, Stephanie Lane, Christie Hope, and Amanda Hope; and four great grandchildren, Leo Lane-Brady, Kolby Robinson, Kaleah Robinson, and Andrea Robinson. The family will visit with friends Sunday evening, April 2, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery.
