Louise Orren

Ruby Louise Kennedy Orren, 90, of Statesville, died Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Orren was born March 1, 1927 in Statesville, NC and was the daughter of the late Arthur Ferrell Kennedy and Emma Lou Mills Kennedy. She was a graduate of Troutman High School and on September 30, 1944, she married the late John Walter Orren, who passed away November 17, 1988. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and worked for Beauty Maid Mills for many years. She loved to work in her flowers around her home and talk with neighbors and friends on the telephone. Mrs. Orren is survived by one son, David Ray Orren (Brenda) of Statesville, a granddaughter, Karen Orren Watson (Doug) of Faith, NC; two great grandchildren, Elizabeth B. Nanney (Hunter) of Mooresville, Jeffrey Brawley of Mooresville, two sisters, Lorene K. Campbell of Statesville, Rachel K. Ketchie of Statesville along with a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Kennedy, Arthur Kennedy, Barron Ray Kennedy and two sisters, Lois K. Troutman, Hazel K. Williams. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Nicholson Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Orren officiating. Pallbearers will include: Jerry Hoover, Brian Hoover, Mike Stapleton, and Joe Raymer. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
