Louise Cutting

Miss Louise Roueche Cutting, 100, formerly of Statesville, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, NC. She was born May 31, 1912 in Statesville and was the daughter of the late Walter Lee Cutting and Mary Magdalene Roueche Cutting. She was a graduate of Statesville city schools and was a member of St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church. The Cutting family is the oldest Catholic family in Statesville and Iredell County. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Miss Elizabeth Cutting, Christine Cutting and Mary Cutting Merritt along with two brothers, Elmer and Lloyd Cutting. She was associated in the family florist business and was also a homemaker. She is survived by a nephew, Dr. John Merritt and his wife Troy of Gastonia, NC. A mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Father Peter Fitzgibbons and Rev. Father Kurt Fohn officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday morning, 10:00 until 11:00 am at the church.
