Louie Edward Marett, Jr.

Mr. Louie Edward Marett, Jr., 77, of Statesville, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at his home. Born in Iredell County on October 8, 1939, he was a son of the late Louie Edward Marett and Nancy Louise Cochran Marett. Louie was a member of First A.R.P. Curch and a graduate of the Statesville High School Class of 1958 after which he attended U.N.C. and graduated from Catawba College. He was a former partner and owner of Marett's Clothing Store, a family owned business in downtown Statesville for many years. He was also in real estate and had managed other properties. He was a loving brother, son and cousin. Survivors include a sister, Deanie M. Woodie (Joe) of Dunwoody, Ga. and a cousin who grew up in the Marett home, Sara Seitz. Services celebrating Louie's life will be conducted at 11:00 Tuesday at the Nicholson Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Sherer officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service.
