Lonnie Wayne Deal

Mr. Lonnie Wayne Deal, 81, of Statesville, passed away, Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Deal was born July 2, 1935 in Iredell County and was the son of the late George L. Deal and Eulalia Alexander Deal. He was a graduate of Cool Spring High School and on February 5, 1955, he married Loretta Faye Rimmer Deal, who survives of the home. Mr. Deal was of the Baptist faith and loved serving Jesus by Ministry in Ukraine Missions and singing with The Sounds of Faith gospel quartet. In 1976, he founded D & D Machine Works, Inc. and left his business to his grandson, Aaron Jones. In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by two daughters, Faye Bradshaw (Alan) of Statesville, Rhonda Jones (Charles) of Statesville, three grandsons, Andy Jones (Michelle), Aaron Jones (Amanda), Adam Jones (Melissa) all of Statesville and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2016 at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends at Temple Baptist Church from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Faith Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Andy Jones, Aaron Jones, Adam Jones, Caleb Jones, Andy Baity and Kelly Weatherman. Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Jones, Preston Jones, Brice jones, George Lucas, Allen Swicegood, Ken Huff, Devon Deal and Scott Conley.
