Lonnie Paul Elliott

Mr. Lonnie Paul Elliott, 80, of Catawba, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016. Mr. Elliott was born October 1, 1936 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Paul H. and Ruby Mae Hoover Elliott. He attended Iredell County schools and served in the U.S. Army. On November 24, 1956, he married Carolyn Jenkins Elliott and they were both members of New Sterling A.R.P. Church. Mr. Elliott was the owner and operator of the Statesville Meat Center. He was a kind and humble man, who enjoyed giving to others. He enjoyed his time at Lake Lookout and loved teaching his family and friends how to fish and waterski. He truly enjoyed life, football, hamburgers, cheerwine and especially pulling pranks on his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Donna E. Waugh (Terry) of Stony Point, Darrell Elliott of Catawba, Dawn E. Keller (Dooner) of Stony Point; four grandchildren, Crystal Keller-Coffey (Jamie), Jesse Keller (Kelly), Kendayl Waugh Cline (Josh), Trey Waugh (Katelyn) and three great grandchildren, Ayla Coffey, Austin Coffey and Addie "Hattie " Coffey. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at New Sterling ARP Church with Dr. Tim Watson and Dr. Earl Linderman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery and the family will visit with friends following the service at the church. Active pallbearers will be Jesse Keller, Jamie Coffey, Josh Cline, Trey Waugh, Steve Stewart, Ronnie Taylor and Bobby Shoemaker. Memorials may be made to New Sterling ARP Church, 580 New Sterling Rd, Stony Point, NC 28678 or Elk Shoals Church, 2850 Elk Shoals Loop, Stony Point, NC 28678.
