Lois Moran

Mrs. Lois Moreland Moran, 92, of N. Bost St., Statesville, passed away, Sunday, March 20, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Moran was born June 16, 1918 in Mason County, KY and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Moreland. She attended Mason County, KY schools and was married to the late Virgil Taylor Moran, who passed away in 1974. She was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church, Elks Club Auxiliary and enjoyed playing bridge at the Senior Center. Mrs. Moran is survived by three sons, Gary L. Moran of Albemarle, Kent A. Moran of Cordell, GA, Steven L. Moran (Jeannie) of Mint Hill, NC and four grandchildren, Paul T. Moran, John M. Moran, Nicole F. Moran and Kimberly D. Moran. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Kay Moran, who passed away in 2003. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Don Shuman officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service.
