Lois Jean Tucker

Lois Jean Glover Tucker, 71, of Statesville, passed away Monday, December 14, 2015 at her residence. She was born on June 19, 1944 in Statesville to the late James Albert and Ina Marie Goforth Glover. Lois was a graduate of Statesville Senior High class of 1962. She was married to Charles Barry Tucker, who preceded her in death on February 26, 2003. She worked for Thonet from 1963 until 2000 and then retired from Craftmaster Furniture where she worked in accounting. Mrs. Tucker was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church since childhood. She loved her children and was a great influence in their lives. The only thing she loved more than her children was her grandchildren and she will truly be missed. Along with her parents and husband, Barry, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Minnish Brown and Mary Minnish Stewart; and one brother, Billie Edgar Minnish. Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Julie Tucker Gibson (Jim); a son, Kevin Grant Tucker; three grandsons, Daniel Johnson (Samantha), Christopher Johnson, and Wyatt Gibson; and one granddaughter, Brianna Tucker, all of Statesville. Funeral services for Mrs. Tucker will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 18, 2015 at St. Mark Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Milstead officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark Baptist Church, 1852 Old Wilkesboro Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
