Linda Mcdaniels

Linda Rimmer McDaniels, 69, of Statesville, won her courageous battle with a brief illness, surrounded by her family, friends and her beloved Chihuahua, JoJo, on February, 24, 2012. She is in no more pain and is now in her Heavenly home. Linda was born April 17, 1942 in Catawba County and was the daughter of the late Glen B. and Mary E. Nash Rimmer. Linda attended Iredell County schools and on April 19, 1990, she married Garland McDaniels, who survives. She was an active member of 7 Street Baptist Church and was the church treasurer. In addition to her parents, Linda was also preceded in death by one sister, Clara N. Johnson, one son, William "Billy" McDaniels and one grandson, Jeffery Ward Weatherman. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Garland, of the home, six children, Kimberly Weatherman Martin (Barry) of Virginia Beach, VA, Kelly Weatherman (Cindy), Lisa Weatherman, and Garland V. McDaniels (Kathy), all of Statesville and John McDaniels and Jeannie Nelson (Michael), both of Bethlehem. She is further survived by one brother, Clyde Rimmer (Joyce) of Seattle, WA. She is also survived by four sisters, Pat Brown of Gastonia, Mary Beckham of Cleveland and Norma Deal and Loretta Deal (Wayne), both of Statesville. She is further survived by 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A celebration of Linda's life will be conducted 3:00 pm Monday, February 27, 2012 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Wayne and Barbara Little. The family will visit with friends from 2:00 until 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. The Weatherman and McDaniels families would like to thank caregivers, Lisa Weatherman and her grandson, Ricky Cartner along with Shoka of Community Care and Hospice of Iredell for their unselfish care of Linda during her final days.
