Linda Lewis

Mrs. Linda Loven Lewis, 77, of Statesville, passed away, Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. Linda was born February 3, 1940 in Charlotte, NC and was the daughter of the late Howard and Agnes Byers Loven. She grew up in Concord, NC and was a graduate of Concord High School, Mitchell College and High Point University. On August 1, 1970, she was married to John Gray Lewis, Jr. of Statesville, who survives. She was a member of First ARP Church in Statesville, where she was very active in the Women's Group. She was a second-grade teacher at Northview in her earlier years and was a member of the Kappa Kappa Iota Teacher Sorority. She enjoyed playing bridge and visiting with friends. In addition to her husband of 46 years, she is survived by two cousins, Mary Cooper of Mocksville and Jane Gardener Jordan of Raleigh. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017 at First ARP Church with Rev. Phil McCoy officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Sunday afternoon 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home and after the service at the church. Memorials may be made to First ARP Church, Gordon Hospice House and Mitchell College Foundation. Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family of Linda Loven Lewis.
