Linda Carole Patterson

Linda J. Patterson of Thomasville departed this earthly life and was received by her Savior on Monday, December 12, 2022, at the age of 82 following a brief illness.

Linda was born Linda Carole Wood in Haywood County, NC, in April of 1940. She spent much of her childhood at Mills Home in Thomasville, as her widowed mother worked as a nurse at Thomasville Hospital. Linda graduated from Thomasville High School and went on to work in the retail industry much of her life.

Linda had many joys in her life, including her beloved cat, OC.

An unexpected blessing, OC provided Linda with so much love, companionship, and amusement. Linda was a loving and devoted mother, "Memaw" to her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and friend to many. She was an avid reader and crafter…if you ever visited her home, you will fondly remember being met with stacks of books and crafting projects in various stages of completion on and around her dining room table. Linda was kind and giving, always looking to busy herself with the Father's work…always doing for others.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Carrie Mae Wood, former husband Graham Johnson, brother, Freddie Wood, her cousin, Pat Wood, and her lifelong best friend Annette Grissett.

Linda is survived by her three children Lorrie Gallimore (and husband Steven) and Nancy McColl (and husband Bill), also of Thomasville, and Donnie Fowler (and wife Sandie) of Emerald Isle, NC. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.
