Mrs. Lillian Haynes Munday, 94, died peacefully Sunday, July 3, 2011 at home in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by her family. She was born June 1, 1917 in Bells Crossroads to the late Ralph Harrill Haynes and Acenith Nesbit Haynes. She was married to the late Howard H Munday. She was a dedicated homemaker and a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved the Lord and loved people. She was an avid reader and she loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, Greensboro, NC and a former member of New Perth ARP Church, Troutman, NC. Mrs. Munday is survived by loving sons, Howard R (Reggie) Munday and wife Jeanne of Jacksonville, FL, Ralph H Munday and wife Nancy of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Sarah Munday Schalkowski (Frank), Orlando FL; Donna Munday, Lawrenceville, GA, Paige Hudson (Andy), Statesville, NC, Leanne Sherrill (Charles), Clemmons, NC, David Menscer, (Lisa), Pleasant Garden, NC, Jamie Brown, (Mike), Greensboro, NC and Kylie Holland (Brian), Jacksonville, FL, and 8 great-grandchildren. A private family burial will be held on July 23, 2011 at 10:15 a.m. at Perth Cemetery in Troutman, NC. Rev. Robert Scherer will officiate. A memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Munday's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. at New Perth ARP Church in Troutman, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be sent to: Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257.
