Leroy Bishop Martin,Lll.

Mr. LeRoy Bishop (Roy) Martin, III., 74, of Statesville, died Wednesday at his home. Born in Lumberton, N.C. on February 28, 1943, he was a son of the late LeRoy Bishop Martin, Jr., and Floride Lemmon Martin. On January 18, 1975, he married the former Carol Johnson who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jonathan Mills Martin (Melissa) of Cornelius and Lee Bishop Martin of Greensboro along with grandchildren: Allison, Ashley, Aubrey and Alexander. Also surviving are three sisters: Elizabeth Gasque of Charleston, S.C., Margaret Martin of Greenville, S.C. and Martha Drouin (John) of Virginia Beach, Va. Mr. Martin was a graduate of St. Andrews Presbyterian College and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Statesville. He was also a veteran. He was a retired V.P. of Sales for Premier Farnell Corp and enjoyed golf and shooting. Services celebrating Mr. Martin's life will be conducted at 3:00 Sunday, May 7, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Steve Scott officiating.
