Throughout her life, Lavonne's hard work and dedication were evident in her career, where she began in the cutting room at Hunter Brothers before moving on to Hunt Manufacturing as an assembler. However, it was not just her professional endeavors that defined her; Lavonne was a devoted family woman who cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Known for making the best potato salad ever, she created a warm and inviting home filled with love, laughter, and delectable dishes that brought her family together.
Lavonne had a servant's heart. She was very kind-hearted and giving, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. Her interests were diverse and fulfilling, ranging from flower and vegetable gardening to cooking and sewing. Each hobby she embraced allowed her to express her creativity and care for those around her, often sharing the fruits of her labor with loved ones.
Her faith was a cornerstone in her life. A long-standing member of Beulah Heights Wesleyan Church, Lavonne proudly served in numerous roles, including as the tithing secretary and teller, a Sunday School teacher, cherished choir member and quartet member. Her love for the Lord and dedication to her community will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to share in her life.
Lavonne is survived by her beloved husband, Elmer Huie; daughter, Lisa Henderson and her husband, Chester; son, Chris Huie; grandchildren, Whitley H. Ely and her husband, Jonny, Heather D.
