Laura Leigh Overman

Laura Leigh Compton Overman, 59, of Statesville, died July 17,2022 at her home. Born in Iredell County on November 6, 1962, she was a daughter of Robert Bryant Compton and Irene Goodin Compton, both of whom survive.

She was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and loved 4-H, crafts, knitting, crocheting and reading her Bible.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, Dakota Wesley Overman (Emily), two daughters: Montana Marie Overman (Jody Dodson), and Savannah Overman (David Parker). Also surviving are brothers, Barry and Keith Compton and 7 grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Friendship United Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Lorton officiating. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will take place in the National Cemetery in Salisbury at 11:00 am on Friday, July 29, 2022.
