Laura Jane Edmiston Bowles, 41, of Troutman, passed away on October 26, 2011 after a battle with cancer. Mrs. Bowles was the daughter of Mr. James Allen Edmiston, Jr. (Mary Anne), and the late Mrs. Douglas Ann Edmiston, granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Douglas (Gertha) Wolfe of Scotts, and the late J. Allen Edmiston, Sr. of Statesville. On August 12, 1995, she married Bradley Scott Bowles who survives. Also surviving is her daughter, Brittany Noelle Bowles and son, Blake Allen Bowles of the home Mrs. Bowles was a graduate of South Iredell High School and UNC-Charlotte where she received a B.S. in Business Administration. While at UNCC, she participated on the intramural softball team and worked at the J. Murray Adkins Library. Her special college friends include Mrs. Jamye Wilson deBot, Mrs. Rhonda Karriker Salter, and Miss Emily Deck. Mrs. Bowles was employed as a Trust Officer with Wells Fargo (Wachovia) Retirement Services, in Charlotte, NC for over 15 years. She enjoyed her lunches with co-workers Linda Clark, Brenda Jandebeur, Susan Lydon and Lisa Perry. Mrs. Bowles was an avid boater, tennis player, and musician providing services for the children's choir along with Tammy Reavis during the early years of her children's lives. Laura appreciated her piano teacher, Mrs. Joyce Wilhelm and daughter Krista Osborne, for their instruction and love as well as Susie Ford and Rivera Ward Douthit. Survivors include her brother, Mr. and Mrs. T. Douglas (Dede) Edmiston of Huntersville, niece and nephews Jane Frances Ann, Jimmy and Charlie Edmiston, grandmother, Mrs. Gaye Edmiston, special aunts and uncles, Mr. Charles Crawford, Miss Anne Edmiston, Mrs. Mary Tolbert (Carl), Mrs. Ethel Mercer (Ron) all of Statesville. Also surviving are cousins Mr. Preston Tolbert (Sara) of AZ, Miss Catherine Tolbert Davis (Cody) of Richmond, VA, sister-in-law, Mrs. Missy Pawlak (Tyler), nieces Jayden and Jennah Haywood, and mother-in-law, Mrs. Cindy (David) Bowles all of Mooresville. Special friends in addition to those mentioned include Carol Lamberth, Jonna Murnick, and Wendy Stutts Overcash, Honorary pallbearers are Brian Witherspoon, Edward Brawley and John Webb. The family appreciates the highest level of care that was provided to Laura by Dr. John Powderly, Bethany Skaggs, P.A., Wendy Parker, R.N. Renee, R.N., Paula and Sandy, all of the Carolina Bio-oncology Institute in Huntersville. Also appreciated are the many trips to treatment provided by Mrs. Mary Anne Edmiston. A celebration of life service will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Front Street Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Stutts officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood cemetery in Mooresville. The Family will visit with friends Friday evening, 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home.
