Kenny Dale Beaver, 60, of Elloree, S.C. and formerly of Statesville, passed away Monday, April 18, 2011, at the W.J.B. Dorn VA Hospital in Columbia, S.C. Mr. Beaver was born July 4, 1950 in Rowan County and was the son of the late Hazel Lee Beaver and Kathleen Morrison Beaver. He attended Rowan County School and was a graduate of Tennessee Temple University with a Divinity degree. He was a pastor and youth pastor of various churches in both North and South Carolina, and was a member of Fellowship of Praise in Santee, S.C. Mr. Beaver was a Disabled Vietnam Veteran and he was a member of the American Legion and Patrol Gunboat Association. On October 4, 2003, he was married to Linda Ruth Beaver, who survives of the home. Along with his parents, Mr. Beaver was also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Beaver. In addition to his wife, Mr. Beaver is also survived by one son, Jonathan Beaver (Kimberly) of Statesville; two daughters, Kristine Overkamp (Michael) of Alexis, N.C. and Mary Beth "Boogie Bear" Barnett (Keith) of Statesville. He is also survived by one brother, Jerry Beaver (Lydia) Rockingham, N.C., one sister, Patricia Russell (Douglas) of Blowing Rock, N.C., along with five grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services for Mr. Beaver will be conducted 10:30 am Friday, April 22, 2011 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Gordon officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday at Nicholson Funeral Home. Burial is scheduled for 1:00 pm Monday, April 25, 2011 in the National Cemetery in Salisbury, N.C.
