Kenneth Alan Porter, Jr.

Mr. Kenneth Alan Porter, Jr., 54, of Statesville, died Friday morning, February 6, 2015 at his home. Born April 24, 1960 in Hartford, Conn. He was a son of the late Kenneth Porter, Sr. and Marjorie Boyington Porter. He was a purchasing director for Barrday, Inc. He earned his B.S. in Busiiness Administration and his Masters degree from Ashwood University. He also graduated from the Executive Management Institute of Stockholm, Sweden. He was an Eagle Scout and a very talented musician and a music lover. He also loved his family and enjoyed the Carolina Panthers. He was also a member of Front Street Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Carol Cox Porter of the home, two daughters, Brandi Holman of Statesville and Shana Holman of West Virginia along with grandchildren: Sierra, Seven, Gavyn, Demetra and Jacob and a brother. Services celebrating Mr. Porter's life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday February 9, 2015 at Front Street Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Stutts officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
