Kayla Christine Mccabe

May 2, 1988 — March 29, 2021

Kayla Westerlund, age 32, of Lexington, North Carolina passed away on March 29th after a long battle with cancer. We are certain she stomped her pissed-off ass up to heaven because she wasn't done here. So, God likely got a lecture about taking her too soon and we believe she was right. Her endless love for her children, Savannah, Connor, and Logan will never be forgotten, these were her greatest pride and joy, the reason she fought so hard. They have a huge family unit that will be supporting them, as we can already see that they take after her and they will be raising hell just as much as she did. Her parents, Helen and Kenneth take comfort in knowing that she is living a pain free life in heaven with her Dad, Chuck Westerlund, and Grandma Rowe along with many other family members. Her mom wants everyone to remember her happy and ornery, Kayla would not want others mourning her passing, she might haunt you if you try that crap. Kayla was always the firecracker, a huge smartass, but a loving sibling. Her sister's Dona Jean, Darlene, Nicole, Sarah and Natalee will miss her terribly, they agree she was a brat, but they made her that way and they are damn proud of that. Her love of race cars brought her together with Randy, who fulfilled his promise to stick with her through thick and thin....always her Boo. He was a rock for our family during the most difficult time of our lives and he will also have that same family support, although it might feel like a punishment at times, because, let's be honest the women in our family are difficult to deal with and now he has extra women interfering in his life. Sorry Randy. Kayla and her best friend Nicole shared many good times together, Nicole brought Kenny, aka, Okie into her life, they loved going camping and four wheel driving as a family. Okie has also inherited our family support, it sounds like a threat because it might be. Kayla learned to be a first time mommy alongside Zach, who also will also inherit the family support Kayla will be missed by many other family members and friends, she has left a lasting touch on our lives, hold her in your heart until you can hold her in heaven. Grief never ends...But it changes It's a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith...It is the price of love.
