Kate Marie Dalton

Kate Marie Angel Dalton, 80, of Statesville, passed away Monday, December 28, 2015 at Autumn Care of Statesville. She was born in Franklin, NC on December 17, 1935 to the late Paul and Alma Sanders Angel but Kate lived in Statesville for over 50 years. Kate was a graduate of Franklin High School and on March 17, 1961 she married Thomas Alonzo Dalton, who preceded her in death in 1992. She had worked as a sales clerk at Roses Department Store before her retirement. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Angel. Mrs. Dalton is survived by a daughter, Cindy Dalton, a son, Terry Dalton (Sophie Ing); a granddaughter, Jenny Waugh; four grandsons, Wesley, Shawn, and Chris Dalton and Dustin Benge; two brothers, Homer and Jack Angel; and three sisters, Polly Wilhelm, Phyllis Lippard, and Jewell Walker. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. J.B. Parker, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Iredell.
