Karee Relian Laws

Karee (Peg) Hoover Laws, 85, of Statesville, passed away Thursday February 4, 2016 at Maple Leaf Health Care. She was born on September 29, 1930 to the late A.A. Hoover and Mary Benfield Hoover. Peg was a graduate of Troutman High Schools and was retired from Heritage Knitting. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman. Left to cherish her memory are a son, Mike Lail of Statesville; a daughter, Karen Collins (Tommy) of Georgia; two granddaughters, Kayla Collins of Georgia and Michelle Darr (Jimmie) of Statesville; three great grandchildren, Jacob, Kacey, and Thomas Darr; and two sisters, Pauline Mills (Clayton) of Statesville and Virginia Jenkins of Missouri. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Dieter W. Punt officiating. The family will speak to friends following the service. The family would like to thank the staffs of The Gardens and Maple Leaf for the care and love they provided Peg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 225 Morgan Street, Troutman, NC 28166.
