Junius Thomas Stevenson

Mr. Junius Thomas "Tom" Stevenson, 79, passed away surrounded by his family at home on Friday, August 7, 2015. Mr. Stevenson was born October 26, 1936 to the late John Harvey Stevenson and Sally Martin Stevenson. Tom was a graduate of Scotts High School and worked in the lumber industry for both Wickes and H&B Lumber until he retired in 2004. He was an active member of Concord Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held 5:00 PM Sunday, August 9, 2015, at Concord Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William Wease and Rev. John Stevenson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery immediately following the service. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 PM in the sanctuary. Active pallbearers will be Derek Fox, Ken Byrd, Ralph Church, Reggie Hooker, Steve Wilkins, and Burns McKrackin. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by siblings Harvey Stevenson and Marge Addington. Mr. Stevenson is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sue Creedmore Stevenson; two daughters Robin Estes (Jeff) of Clover, SC and Tammy Talley of Statesville; one son Darren Stevenson (Penny) of Troutman; four grandchildren Kalie Wilkins Redmond (Dustin), Lindsay Wilkins, Bradley Estes and Brandon Estes; sisters, Bonnie Johnson (Bill), Marie Stevenson(Charles), and one brother, Joe Stevenson (Carolyn). Tom loved spending time with his family and being in the outdoors riding tractors, cutting wood, and sitting in his beloved swing. He will always be remembered for his warm smile and kind nature. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Concord Presbyterian Church, 3867 Taylorsville Highway, Statesville, NC 28625.
