June Styers Lippard

Carolyn "June" Styers Lippard, 91 of Cleveland died Thursday, March 9, 2023.

She was born in Gaston County on September 1, 1931, to the late James Maynard Styers and Velma Withers Styers. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bill Styers.

June retired from the Iredell County Department of Social Services after more than 30 years. She was a faithful member of Oakdale Baptist Church where she had served on many committees and was the church secretary for several years. June loved to travel and had visited all 50 states. She loved going to the beach, playing cards with her friends, watching Braves baseball and planting and tending her azalea bushes. More than anything else, she loved her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids coming into the house calling out for "Lippard".

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Tim Lippard (Tammy), Buddy Lippard, two daughters, Sharon Hammond (Jeff), Terrie Sherrill (Wesley), nine grandchildren, Kelle Deal (Keven), Gregg Sherrill, Lorren Dahlia (Dom), Dylan Lippard (Haley), Colt Hammond (Samantha), Heather Stikeleather (Bo), Jacob Lynch (Laura), Jesse Lynch, 13 great-grandchildren, and one to be born in July, and two brothers, Johnny Styers (Carolyn) and Robert Styers. She was loved and will be missed by all.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, March 13, 2023, at 12:00 noon at Oakdale Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Daniels and Chaplain John Booth officiating. The family will greet friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakdale Baptist Church, 585 Mocksville Hwy., Statesville, NC 28625.
